ROAD TRAFFIC (PARKING) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 13
Interfering with parking apparatus
Any person who without lawful authority-
(a) interferes with a parking meter, a pay and display machine or an
automatic vending machine;
(b) impedes or prevents the operation of any apparatus referred to in
paragraph (a);
(c) operates or attempts to operate-
(i) a coin operated parking meter, by the insertion of any object
other than the appropriate coin;
(ii) a card operated parking meter, other than by the use of a
parking card or, where applicable, an approved card;
(iii) a pay and display machine, by the insertion of any object other
than the appropriate coin, bank note, parking card or, where
applicable, approved card; or
(iv) an automatic vending machine, by the insertion of any object
other than the appropriate coin or bank note determined under
regulation 12B or, where applicable, an approved card;
(d) removes any money from any apparatus referred to in paragraph
(a) ; or
(e) is in possession of any object designed or adapted for interfering
with the apparatus referred to in paragraph (a), commits an offence
and is liable to a fine of $5000 and to imprisonment for 3 months.
