ROAD TRAFFIC (PARKING) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 12D
Offences relating to parking cards and display tickets
(1) Any person who without lawful authority or reasonable excuse-
(a) interferes with a parking card so that any information encoded therein
is erased wholly or in part or the parking card is otherwise altered
or damaged;
(b) uses or attempts to use, for the purpose of operating a card
operated parking meter or a pay and display machine, a parking card or
an approved card which has been interfered with, altered or damaged;
or
(c) fails to return a parking card on being required to do so under
regulation 12(6)(c), commits an offence and is liable to a fine of
$500.
(2) Any person who without lawful authority or reasonable excuse-
(a) alters, defaces, damages or otherwise interferes with a display ticket
displayed on a motor vehicle;
(b) uses or attempts to use, for indicating payment of a parking fee, a
display ticket which has been altered, defaced, damaged or otherwise
interfered with;
(c) removes any display ticket displayed on a motor vehicle parked in a
pay and display parking space; or
(d) after having displayed a display ticket on a particular motor vehicle
for the purpose of indicating payment of a parking fee, uses or
permits or causes the same display ticket to be used by any other
person or in respect of any other motor vehicle, commits an offence
and is liable to a fine of $500. (L.N. 252 of 1991)
