ROAD TRAFFIC (PARKING) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 10
Exemptions from restrictions
Nothing in regulation 4 or 5 or 6 shall apply-
(a) so as to restrict the use of any vehicle in connection with-
(i) the removal of any obstruction to traffic;
(ii) the maintenance, improvement or reconstruction of any road as
authorized by the Director of Highways; or
(iii) the erection, alteration or repair in or near any road of any
sewer or any main, pipe or apparatus for the supply of gas,
water or electricity or of any telephone wires, cable posts or
supports, if compliance with those regulations would cause
unreasonable inconvenience in the use of the vehicle for such
purpose;
(b) to vehicles used for fire service, ambulance or police purposes;
(c) to vehicles used for the conveyance of public mail, or vehicles used
by the armed forces of the Crown when any such vehicles are being used
as a matter of urgent necessity; or
(d) to anything done with the permission of a police officer: Provided
that no vehicle shall remain parked under paragraphs (a), (b) and
(c) for any longer period than may be necessary for such purpose.
