ROAD TRAFFIC (DRIVING LICENCES) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 23
Renewal of driving instructors' licences
(Past version on 01/09/2000).
(Past version on 30/06/1997).
(1) Subject to paragraph (3), the Commissioner shall renew a
driving instructor's licence on receipt of an application therefor in a form
specified by the Commissioner, signed by the applicant, together with-
(a) (Repealed L.N. 192 of 1989)
(b) his identity document; and (L.N. 49 of 2007)
(c) -(d) (Repealed L.N. 49 of 2007)
(e) the fee prescribed in the Second Schedule.
(2) A driving instructor's licence may be renewed at any time-
(a) during the period of 4 months before its expiry, such renewal to be
effective from the date of expiry;
(b) within 15 days after the date of its expiry, such renewal to be
effective from the date of expiry;
(c) during the period exceeding 15 days but not exceeding 3 years after
its expiry, such renewal to be effective from the date of renewal.
(3) No driving instructor's licence shall be renewed-
(a) unless the applicant is the holder of a full driving licence to drive
all classes of motor vehicles in the group in respect of which his
application for the renewal of the driving instructor's licence is

(b) if the applicant has been convicted of an offence under section 36 or
39 of the Ordinance since the driving instructor's licence was issued
to him.
(4) This regulation does not apply to driving instructors' licences to which
regulation 23A applies. (L.N. 161 of 2000)
