ROAD TRAFFIC (DRIVING LICENCES) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 12
Application for and issue of learners' driving licences
(1) A person who wishes to obtain a learner's driving licence in respect of
any class of motor vehicle (other than a motor cycle and a motor tricycle)
shall deliver to the Commissioner an application therefor in a form specified
by the Commissioner, signed by the applicant, together with his
identity document. (L.N. 192 of 1989)
(2) Paragraphs (2) and (3) of regulation 10 shall apply to an applicant for a
learner's driving licence under this regulation to the same extent as those
paragraphs apply to an applicant under paragraph (1) of that regulation.
(3) On receipt of an application under paragraph (1) and of the fee prescribed
in the Second Schedule, the Commissioner shall, subject to regulations 6, 7
and 9, issue to the applicant a learner's driving licence in respect of the
class of motor vehicle to which his application relates, valid for 12 months
from the date of issue thereof. (34 of 1993 s. 4)
