MERCHANT SHIPPING (INSTRUCTIONS TO SURVEYORS) (PASSENGER SHIPS) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 2

Strength of ships

Strength and inspection of hulls of new ships

The structural plans and particulars specified in paragraph 74(1)(a) and

   (b)  and any others which may be necessary for the purpose are to be
        submitted so that the Surveyor of Ships may determine whether the
        strength of all parts of the structure of the ship will be sufficient.
        If after approval of these submissions any structural modifications
        are made which may affect the strength of the ship or any of its
        parts, they are to be reported in detail for the
        Principal Surveyor of Ships' approval and instructions, and before
        issuing his declaration the surveyor is to satisfy himself that in an
        respects the ship has been constructed in accordance with the
        structural plans as finally approved by the Surveyor of Ships.
