LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL (DATE OF GENERAL ELECTION) NOTICE 1995 - SECT 1
Date of general election in 1995 VerDate:30/06/1997




The date in 1995 for holding-

        (a)	the election to elect all the elected Members of the 
Legislative Council in respect of functional constituencies, namely the 
election of 30 such elected Members within the meaning of the Legislative 
Council (Electoral Provisions) Ordinance (Cap. 381);

        (b)	the election to elect all the elected Members of the 
Legislative Council in respect of the election committee constituency, 
namely the election of 10 such elected Members within the meaning of that 
Ordinance; and

        (c)	the ordinary election to elect all the members of the 
Legislative Council in respect of geographical constituencies, namely the 
election of 20 such members within the meaning of the Electoral Provisions 
Ordinance (Cap. 367),
shall be 17 September 1995.

In this Notice-
"election" (選舉) has the same meaning as in the Legislative Council 
(Electoral Provisions) Ordinance (Cap 381);
"election committee constituency" (選舉委員會組別) means the constituency 
specified in the first column of Schedule 1 to the Legislative Council 
(Electoral Provisions) Ordinance (Cap 381);
"functional constituencies" (功能組別) means the constituencies specified in 
the first column of Schedule 2 to the Legislative Council (Electoral 
Provisions) Ordinance (Cap 381);
"geographical constituencies" (地方選區) means all the constituencies declared 
in the Declaration of Constituencies (Legislative Council) Order (Cap 367 
sub. leg.) under section 3(1)(aa) of the Electoral Provisions Ordinance 
(Cap 367);
"ordinary election" (一般選舉) has the same meaning as in the Electoral 
Provisions Ordinance (Cap 367).
