Preliminary Investigation Committee

PART III

PROCEEDINGS PREPARATORY TO HEARING BY THE BOARD

(1) For the purposes of performing the functions conferred upon it by the
Ordinance and this Regulation, there shall be a Preliminary Investigation
Committee consisting of-

   (a)  a chairman who shall be a member of the Board nominated by the Board
        and appointed by the Chairman of the Board;

   (b)  1 registered optometrist ordinarily resident in Hong Kong, not being a
        member of the Board, nominated by the Hong Kong Optometric Association
        and appointed by the Chairman of the Board;

   (c)  1 registered optometrist ordinarily resident in Hong Kong, not being a
        member of the Board, nominated by the Hong Kong Society of
        Professional Optometrists and appointed by the Chairman of the Board.

(2) Save as provided in Schedule 5 the members of the Committee shall hold
office for 12 months but at the end of such period they may be reappointed.

(3) Schedule 5 shall apply in relation to the Preliminary Investigation
Committee. (Enacted 1994)
