SHIPPING AND PORT CONTROL (WORKS) REGULATION - SECT 48
Safeguards on cranes, etc.
(1) Any crane or winch used as a lifting appliance shall be provided with such
means as will reduce to a minimum the risk of the accidental descent of a load
while being hoisted or lowered.
(2) If there is a contravention of subsection (1), the owner of the lifting
appliance and the person in charge of works commit an offence and each is
liable on conviction to a fine at level 3.
