Markings on certain lifting gear

(1) Subject to subsection (2), every grab, lifting beam, lifting frame, vacuum
lifting device or magnetic lifting device, that does not form an integral part
of a lifting appliance but is used as lifting gear shall be clearly marked
with its own weight.

(2) The markings required to be made under subsection (1) shall be readily
legible and done in such a manner that they shall not affect the strength of
the lifting appliance or lifting gear.

(3) If there is a contravention of subsection (1) or (2), the owner of the
lifting gear and the person in charge of works commit an offence and each is
liable on conviction to a fine at level 3.
