Keeping of register of lifting appliances and lifting gear

(1) The owner of a lifting appliance or lifting gear and the master of the
vessel on which the lifting appliance or lifting gear is used shall ensure
that there is kept on the vessel, a register of lifting appliances and lifting
gear in the specified form, in respect of the lifting appliance or lifting
gear.

(2) A person who, without reasonable excuse, fails to comply with subsection
(1) commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine at level 2.
