SHIPPING AND PORT CONTROL (WORKS) REGULATION - SECT 28
Safety requirements regarding certain lifting gear—ropes in general
(1) No rope shall be used as lifting gear unless it is of suitable quality and
free from any patent defect.
(2) If there is a contravention of subsection (1), the owner of the lifting
gear and the person in charge of works commit an offence and each is liable on
conviction to a fine at level 3.
