SHIPPING AND PORT CONTROL (WORKS) REGULATION - SECT 19

Appointment of works supervisors

(1) For the purposes of supervising works carried out on, to or by means of a
vessel, a person in charge of works may, subject to subsection

(2), appoint a person as a works supervisor.

(2) An appointment made under subsection (1) is not valid unless—

   (a)  it is in writing; and

   (b)  the person appointed is a person who—

        (i)    has attained the age of 18 years;

        (ii)   has at least 2 years practical experience in relevant works on
               any vessel; and

        (iii)  holds— (A) a valid certificate in respect of the relevant
               safety training course; or (B) such other certificate relating
               to safety training recognized by the Director.
