SHIPPING AND PORT CONTROL REGULATIONS - REGULATION 38

Towing signals

(1) A vessel which is being towed by tugs in the waters of Hong Kong shall,
where radiotelephone equipment is not available for use, use the towing
signals specified in the Ninth Schedule to convey directions to the tugs.

(2) If without reasonable excuse this regulation is contravened, the master of
the vessel commits an offence and is liable to a fine of $5000.
