SHIPPING AND PORT CONTROL REGULATIONS - REGULATION 36

Signals for fire or police assistance

Where fire services assistance or police assistance is required on a vessel-

   (a)  between sunrise and sunset, the international code signal "CB3" shall
        be hoisted and, in the case of fire, that signal may be supplemented
by the international code signal "C B6" "I am on fire";

   (b)  between sunset and sunrise, 3 all-round lights in a vertical line, the
        highest and the lowest lights white and the middle red, shall be
exhibited and that signal may be supplemented by a "flare up" every minute
in the case of fire or "blue lights" in the case of riot or disturbance, and,
in either case, a continuous sounding with any fog signal apparatus may, in
addition, be adopted.
