RADIATION (CONTROL OF RADIOACTIVE SUBSTANCES) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 20

Exhaust ventilation

(1) No proprietor of any affected undertaking or affected 
industrial undertaking shall cause or permit any work involving the handling
of any unsealed radioactive substance in powder, paste, gas or vapour form to
be carried out by any person except in a cabinet provided with exhaust
ventilation of a type approved by the Authority.

(2) (a) Any proprietor of any affected undertaking or
affected industrial undertaking who contravenes any of the provisions of
subregulation (1) shall be guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a
fine of $15000.

   (b)  Any person employed in any such undertaking who carries out any work
        referred to in subregulation (1) otherwise than in a cabinet of a type
        referred to therein shall be guilty of an offence and liable on
        conviction to a fine of $3000. (L.N. 226 of 1990) (L.N. 98 of 1970)
