In this Order-
"election committee constituency" (選舉員會組別) has the same meaning as in 
section 2(1) of the Legislative Council (Electoral Provisions) Ordinance 
(Cap 381);
"functional constituency" (功能組別) has the same meaning as in section 2(1) 
of the Legislative Council (Electoral Provisions) Ordinance (Cap 381);
"geographical constituency" (地方選區) means an area declared to be a 
constituency under section 3(1)(aa) of the Electoral Provisions Ordinance 
(Cap 367);
"registered" (已登記)-

        (a)	in relation to any election to the Legislative Council in 
respect of a geographical constituency, means registered in the final 
register compiled and published under the Electoral Provisions Ordinance 
(Cap 367) and in force on the date of election;

        (b)	in relation to any election to the Legislative Council in 
respect of a functional constituency or the election committee 
constituency, means registered in the final register compiled and 
published under the Legislative Council (Electoral Provisions) Ordinance 
(Cap 381) and in force on the date of election.

Maximum scale of election expenses VerDate:30/06/1997



For the purposes of section 13(1) of the Ordinance, the maximum scale of 
election expenses that may be incurred by or on behalf of a candidate for 
election to the Legislative Council shall be-

        (a)	in respect of any geographical constituency, $200000;

        (b)	in respect of any functional constituency specified in items 1 
to 3 of Part I of Schedule 2 to the Legislative Council (Electoral 
Provisions) Ordinance (Cap 381), $50000;

        (c)	in respect of any functional constituency specified in items 4 
to 20 of Part II of Schedule 2 to that Ordinance-

        (i)	where there are not more than 5000 electors registered in that 
constituency, $80000;

        (ii)	where there are over 5000 but not more than 15000 electors 
registered in that constituency, $90000;

        (iii)	where there are over 15000 electors registered in that 
constituency, $100000;

        (d)	in respect of any functional constituency specified in items 21 
to 29 of Part II of Schedule 2 to that Ordinance-

        (i)	where there are not more than 150000 electors registered in 
that constituency, $240000;

        (ii)	where there are more than 150000 electors registered in that 
constituency, $240000 plus an additional $55000 for every additional 
100000 (or part thereof) electors in excess of the first 150000 electors 
registered in that constituency;

        (e)	in respect of the election committee constituency, $50000.
