(2) The conditions referred to in sub-paragraph (1) are that the consular employee concerned- (a) is not- (i) a British citizen, a British Dependent Territories citizen or a British Overseas citizen; or (ii) a British subject; or (iii) a British protected person; and (80 of 1982 s.3) (b) does not carry on any private gainful occupation in Hong Kong; and (c) is not permanently resident in Hong Kong.
