PRISON RULES - RULE 14

Medical examination on admission

Every prisoner shall, as soon as possible after his admission, be separately
examined by the Medical Officer, who shall record the state of health of the
prisoner, and such other particulars as he may deem necessary: Provided that
when a prisoner is admitted too late to be examined on the same day he shall
be examined as soon as possible on the next day, and in any case within 24
hours of admission.
