COUNTRY PARKS AND SPECIAL AREAS REGULATIONS - REGULATION 13A
Control of entry into specified zones
(1) The Authority shall—
(a) determine the days on which, and the hours during which, a
specified zone is open to the public; and
(b) display, in a prominent position in or at the entrance to the zone, a
notice in English and in Chinese showing the days and hours so
determined.
(2) The Authority—
(a) may, notwithstanding subregulation (1), close a specified zone, or any
part of a specified zone, to the public for such purposes and reason
as he thinks fit; and
(b) shall, on exercising the power under paragraph (a), display, in a
prominent position in or at the entrance to the zone, a notice in
English and in Chinese of the closure.
(3) The Authority—
(a) may designate and set aside any area within a specified zone as a
reception area; and
(b) shall, on exercising the power under paragraph (a), display, in a
prominent position in or at the entrance to the zone, a notice in
English and in Chinese showing the area so designated.
(4) Subject to subregulation (6), no person shall, except in accordance with a
permit in writing granted by the Authority—
(a) enter a specified zone outside the opening hours of the zone;
(b) remain in a specified zone outside the opening hours of the zone after
being requested to leave by the Authority, an authorized officer or
an attendant;
(c) enter a specified zone, or any part of a specified zone, that has been
closed in accordance with subregulation (2); or
(d) remain in a specified zone, or any part of a specified zone, that has
been closed in accordance with subregulation (2) after being requested
to leave by the Authority, an authorized officer or an attendant.
(5) Subject to subregulations (6) and (7), no person shall enter a
specified zone unless—
(a) the person has, before entering the zone, paid—
(i) the admission fee for the entry by that person, set out in
Schedule 3; or
(ii) if that admission fee has been reduced under regulation 18A,
the admission fee as reduced; or
(b) as a result of a waiver under regulation 18A, the person may enter the
zone without paying the admission fee.
(6) Subregulations (4) and (5) do not apply to any person who is authorized by
the Authority to—
(a) assist in the management of the specified zone, or any part of the
zone; or
(b) carry out any construction, operation or maintenance works, or
research, within the specified zone, or any part of the zone.
(7) Subregulation (5) does not apply in relation to a reception area of the
specified zone as shown in a notice displayed under subregulation (3)(b).
