SOLICITORS (PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY) RULES - RULE 6

Compulsory Indemnity

(1) Subject to rule 7, every solicitor who is, or is held out to the public
as, a solicitor in Practice in Hong Kong shall be required to have and
maintain Indemnity.

(2) Any current practising certificate which has been issued to a solicitor
who is required to have and maintain Indemnity and who fails to have Indemnity
shall be suspended and such person shall not be qualified to act as a
solicitor pursuant to section 7 of the Ordinance while he shall fail to have
Indemnity. (Enacted 1989)
