NOTARIES PUBLIC (EXAMINATIONS) RULES - SECT 2 Interpretation VerDate:30/06/2005 In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires— "examination" (考試) means an examination in the subjects specified, and conducted in the manner described, in these Rules. "examination" (考試) NOTARIES PUBLIC (EXAMINATIONS) RULES - SECT 3 Application for examination VerDate:30/06/2005 A person who wishes to take an examination must apply to the Society of Notaries in writing. The application must be— (a) in a form approved by the Council of the Society of Notaries; and (b) accompanied by the application fee prescribed in the Schedule. NOTARIES PUBLIC (EXAMINATIONS) RULES - SECT 4 Holding and conducting of examinations VerDate:30/06/2005 (1) The Society of Notaries may hold examinations at such times and places as the Society may from time to time determine. (2) The Society of Notaries may conduct an examination itself or appoint examiners to conduct the examination on the Society's behalf. NOTARIES PUBLIC (EXAMINATIONS) RULES - SECT 5 Subjects and syllabus of examinations VerDate:30/06/2005 (1) The subjects of the examination are— (a) bills of exchange; and (b) notarial practice. (2) An examination must be based on a syllabus as the Council of the Society of Notaries may from time to time determine. (3) The Society of Notaries must supply, on request in writing by a person who wishes to take an examination and free of charge, a copy of the syllabus. NOTARIES PUBLIC (EXAMINATIONS) RULES - SECT 6 Examination fee VerDate:30/06/2005 A person who wishes to take an examination must pay the examination fee prescribed in the Schedule to the Council of the Society of Notaries on request of the Council. NOTARIES PUBLIC (EXAMINATIONS) RULES - SECT 7 Person may take examination on unlimited occasions VerDate:30/06/2005 There is no limit to the number of occasions on which a person may take an examination, but in order to satisfy the requirement in section 40A(1)(a)(iii) of the Ordinance, a person must pass all subjects in a single examination. NOTARIES PUBLIC (EXAMINATIONS) RULES - SECT 8 Notification of examination results VerDate:30/06/2005 As soon as practicable after an examination has been held, the Society of Notaries must— (a) notify in writing each person who has taken the examination of the person's examination result; and (b) issue a certificate to each person who has passed the examination.
