NOTARIES PUBLIC (DISCIPLINARY TRIBUNAL PROCEEDINGS) RULES - SECT 7

Failure to appear at hearing

(1) If either the applicant or respondent fails to appear at a hearing, the
Tribunal may still proceed with the inquiry if it is satisfied that a notice
of hearing has been served on the absent party.

(2) If the absent party is the applicant, the Tribunal may make an order under
section 40J(2) of the Ordinance that the inquiry be discontinued without
further hearing.
