BUILDING (STANDARDS OF SANITARY FITMENTS, PLUMBING, DRAINAGE WORKS AND LATRINES) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 28

Bends in soil and waste pipes

(1) Soil pipes and waste pipes shall not have bends therein, except where
unavoidable.

(2) Whenever a bend is unavoidable-

   (a)  the bend shall-

        (i)    have an obtuse angle;

        (ii)   have the largest practicable radius of curvature; and

        (iii)  not change in any way the cross section of the pipe;and

   (b)  a cleaning eye or other suitable means of access shall be provided at
        or near the bend.
