IMMIGRATION REGULATIONS - REGULATION 7A
Prescribed manner for giving notices
A notice under section 13A(2) or (4) of the Ordinance required to be given to
a Vietnamese refugee under section 13A(5) of the Ordinance may be given-
(a) to him personally; or
(b) where in the opinion of an immigration officer or a chief immigration
assistant it is not practicable to give the notice personally, in the
following manner- (65 of 1989 s. 5)
(i) in the case of a person who is a member of a family, to the
head of the family;
(ii) in the case of a person who is a passenger on board, or a
member of the crew of, a ship, to the captain of the ship;
(iii) in the case of a person who is employed, to his employer;
(iv) by publishing the notice in a publication circulated in the
refugee centre in which the person normally resides;
(v) by posting the notice on a notice board in the refugee centre
in which the person normally resides; or
(vi) by broadcasting the notice, on not less than 2 different days,
over a loudspeaker, or in any other manner, in the refugee
centre in which the person normally resides. (L.N. 175 of 1981)
