DOUBLE TAXATION RELIEF (INCOME FROM SHIPPING OPERATIONS) (UNITED STATES OF AMERICA) ORDER - PARAGRAPH 2

Declaration of arrangements

It is declared that-

   (a)  the arrangements specified in the Schedule have been made with the
        Government of the United States of America with a view to affording
        relief from double taxation in relation to income tax and any tax of a
        similar character imposed by the laws of the United States of America
        in respect of income derived from the international operation of
        ships; and

   (b)  it is expedient that those arrangements should have effect in relation
        to tax under the Inland Revenue Ordinance ( Cap 112) notwithstanding
        anything in any enactment. (Enacted 1989)
