PROCLAMATION NO. 1 OF 1974 - PARAGRAPH 1
BY HIS EXCELLENCY SIR CRAWFORD MURRAY MACLEHOSE, Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Most
Excellent Order of the British Empire, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the
Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies.
In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 5(1)(e) of the Inland
Revenue Ordinance, Chapter 112, I hereby PROCLAIM that, in respect of the year
of assessment commencing on the 1st April 1974 and subsequent years of
assessment, property tax shall be charged in respect of any land or buildings
or land and buildings in Areas D and E of the New Territories, as defined in
the Schedule to the Rating (Areas of Hong Kong) Order*.
GIVEN under my hand and the Public Seal of the Colony of Hong Kong this 23rd
day of March 1974.
