TELECOMMUNICATIONS (CORDLESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS APPARATUS) (EXEMPTION FROM LICENSING) ORDER - PARAGRAPH 4

Exemption for purposes of section 8(1)(c) and (d)

(1) A person who-

   (a)  deals in the course of trade or business in; or

   (b)  demonstrates, with a view to sale in the course of trade or business,
        cordless telecommunications apparatus that conforms to the performance
        specifications HKTA 1006, HKTA 1015, HKTA 1026, HKTA 1027, HKTA 1028
        or HKTA 1034 is exempted from section 8(1)(c) and (d) of the Ordinance
        with respect to dealing in and demonstrating the apparatus on
        condition that- (L.N. 190 of 1991; L.N. 86 of 1997)

        (i)    the apparatus is of a model that the Authority has certified as
               meeting the performance specifications HKTA 1006, HKTA 1015,
               HKTA 1026, HKTA 1027, HKTA 1028 or HKTA 1034; and (L.N. 190 of
               1991; L.N. 86 of 1997)

        (ii)   the base unit and the portable unit of the apparatus each bear
               a label identifying the Authority's certification.

(2) The label referred to in subparagraph (1)(ii) shall-

   (a)  display prominently the words- "Telecommunication Ordinance (Cap 106)
        電訊條例(香港法例第106章) Certificate No. 證明書號碼
        Telecommunications Authority 電訊管理局", and the identifying
        number of the certificate issued by the Authority in accordance with
        subparagraph (1)(i); (L.N. 86 of 1997)

   (b)  be rectangular in shape with length and width in the proportions of
        2:1;

   (c)  (Repealed L.N. 86 of 1997)

   (d)  be light grey in colour behind the words "Telecommunications Authority
        電訊管理局" and white or ivory in colour elsewhere, with the text
        in characters of not less than 1.5 mm high; and (L.N. 86 of 1997)

   (e)  be attached to an outside surface of the units. (Enacted 1988)
