Discretionary power to grant ex gratia payment where officer leaves the public service

Where an officer leaves the public service and a pension or short service 
gratuity cannot, except by the application of section 33, be granted to him
under this Ordinance, the Chief Executive may, if he thinks fit, grant such ex
gratia payment to the officer as he thinks just and proper. (Amended 4 of 1993
s. 20; 63 of 1999 s. 3)
