PILOTAGE ORDINANCE - SECT 11
Restrictions on pilotage
PART IV
RESTRICTION ON PERFORMANCE OF PILOTAGE AND PAYMENT OF PILOTAGE DUES ETC.
(1) A person shall not pilot a ship unless he is a licensed pilot or the
master of the ship.
(2) A licensed pilot shall not pilot a ship unless his licence is of the
appropriate class.
(3) A person shall not engage or permit another person to pilot a ship unless
such other person is a licensed pilot whose licence is of the appropriate
class or is the master of the ship.
(4) A licence is of the appropriate class for the purposes of this section
only if there is specified therein such prescribed class of pilotage as
entitles the licensed pilot to undertake the pilotage which he undertakes in
relation to the ship concerned.
(5) Any person who contravenes subsection (1), (2) or (3) shall be guilty of
an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine of $5000 and to
imprisonment for 1 year.
