LANDLORD AND TENANT (CONSOLIDATION) ORDINANCE - SECT 66

Obligation to notify subletting of premises

(1) Where the whole or any part of any premises is sublet, the tenant of the
premises shall, within 14 days of being so required by his landlord, supply
his landlord with a statement in writing of the subletting showing- (Amended 6
of 1980 s. 12; 32 of 1985 s. 17)

   (a)  the name of the sub-tenant;

   (b)  the part of the premises occupied by the sub-tenant;

   (c)  the rent payable by the sub-tenant; and

   (d)  the date of first occupation by the sub-tenant. (Replaced 5 of 1975 s.
        6)

(2) A tenant who is required to supply a statement in accordance with
subsection (1) and who, without reasonable excuse-

   (a)  fails to supply a statement; or

   (b)  supplies a statement which is false in any material particular, shall
        be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine of
        $2000.
