CONSTRUCTION WORKERS REGISTRATION ORDINANCE - SECT 8

Functions and powers of Authority

(1) The Authority shall—

   (a)  be responsible for the administration of this Ordinance and the
        supervision of the registration of persons;

   (b)  set the qualification requirements for registration or renewal of
        registration;

   (c)  make recommendations with respect to the rate of levy; and

   (d)  perform such other functions as are imposed on it under this Ordinance
        or any other enactment.

(2) The Authority may do all such things as are necessary for, or incidental
or conducive to, the performance of its functions and, in particular but
without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, may—

   (a)  establish committees for the performance of its functions and the
        exercise of its powers;

   (b)  employ persons to assist the Authority with the performance of its
        functions and the exercise of its powers;

   (c)  acquire, hold or dispose of property of any description;

   (d)  enter into, carry out, assign or accept the assignment of, vary or
        rescind, any contract, agreement or other obligation;

   (e)  borrow money on such security as may be necessary and for that
        purpose, charge all or any of the property of the Authority; and

   (f)  exercise such other powers as are conferred on the Authority under
        this Ordinance or any other enactment.

(3) Part 2 of Schedule 4 shall have effect with respect to a committee and its
members.
