VILLAGE REPRESENTATIVE ELECTION ORDINANCE - SECT 62

Members and office holders of a Rural Committee

(1) The term of office of each member and office holder of a Rural  Committee
that commenced on 1 April 1999 is extended to 4 years and 6 months.

(2) On the expiry of the term of office mentioned in subsection

(1), there is, in relation to each member and office holder of the Rural 
Committee, a term of office of 3 years and 6 months that commences on 1
October 2003.

(3) The electoral arrangements, and the conduct, of an election to elect an
office holder of a Rural Committee shall be consistent with Article 21(a) and
(b) of the Hong Kong Bill of Rights set out in Part II of the
Hong Kong Bill of Rights Ordinance ( Cap 383).
