DISTRICT COUNCILS ORDINANCE - SECT 63

Resignation of Chairman or Vice Chairman

(1) The Chairman or Vice Chairman may at any time resign from his or her
office as such by giving written notice of resignation to the
District Officer.

(2) A notice of resignation is not effective unless it is signed by the
Chairman or Vice Chairman concerned, as the case may be.

(3) A notice of resignation takes effect-

   (a)  on the date on which the notice is received by the District  Officer;
        or

   (b)  if a later date is specified in the notice, on that later date.
