DISTRICT COUNCILS ORDINANCE - SECT 26

When elected member's office becomes vacant

An elected member's office becomes vacant if-

   (a)  the member dies; or

   (b)  the member resigns in accordance with section 25 or is taken to have
        resigned under section 10 or 23(3); or

   (c)  the member is disqualified under section 24 from holding office as an
        elected member; or

   (d)  the Court determines under section 55 that the member was not duly
        elected and that no other person was duly elected instead.
