MUTUAL LEGAL ASSISTANCE IN CRIMINAL MATTERS ORDINANCE - SECT 18
Status of person prosecuted for Hong Kong offence committed after departure from place outside Hong Kong
(1) Where a person has come to Hong Kong pursuant to a request under
section 16, the person shall be taken, for the purposes of this Ordinance, to
be in Hong Kong pursuant to the request during any period during which the
person remains in Hong Kong for the purpose of being tried for a
Hong Kong offence that the person is alleged to have committed after the
person's departure from the place outside Hong Kong concerned.
(2) Without limiting the generality of subsection (1), the person shall be
kept in such custody as the Secretary for Justice directs under section 16(3).
