Composition and organization of Service

(1) The Service shall comprise the Commissioner, officers (other than the
Commissioner) and other ranks.

(2) The establishment of the Service shall be determined by the Chief
Executive. (Amended 76 of 1999 s. 3)

(3) The Commissioner shall hold the rank specified in Part I of Schedule 1.

(4) The ranks to which members may be appointed are those specified in Parts
II and III of Schedule 1.

(5) The powers of appointment, promotion and reversion of members shall be
vested in the Commissioner.
