MERCHANT SHIPPING (SEAFARERS) ORDINANCE - SECT 87

Power of Superintendent to decide disputes about wages

(1) Any dispute relating to the amount payable to a seafarer employed under a
crew agreement may be submitted by the parties to the Superintendent for
decision, but the Superintendent shall not be bound to accept the submission
or, if he has accepted it, to decide the dispute, if he is of opinion that the
dispute, whether by reason of the amount involved or for any other reason,
ought not to be decided by him.

(2) The decision of the Superintendent on a dispute submitted to him under
this section shall be final. (Enacted 1995)
