MERCHANT SHIPPING (SAFETY) ORDINANCE - SECT 8

Approval of organizations to survey ships and issue certificates

For the saving and transitional provisions relating to the amendments made by
the Resolution of the Legislative Council (L.N. 130 of 2007), see paragraph
(12) of that Resolution.

(1) The Secretary for Transport and Housing may approve any organization for
the purposes of surveying ships and issuing certificates under this Part.

(2) Every certificate issued by any organization approved by the Secretary for
Transport and Housing under subsection (1) shall have effect for the purposes
of this Ordinance as if it had been issued by the Director. (Amended L.N. 106
