LIFTS AND ESCALATORS (SAFETY) ORDINANCE - SECT 22
Periodic examination of escalators
The owner of every escalator shall, at intervals not exceeding 6 months, cause
the escalator to be thoroughly examined by a registered escalator engineer in
order to determine whether the escalator and all machinery and equipment
connected therewith is in safe working order.
