MATRIMONIAL PROCEEDINGS AND PROPERTY ORDINANCE - SECT 33

Transitional

(Past version on 30/06/1997).

(1) The amendments to sections 2(1), 19 and 20(1), and the amendment adding
section 28A, of this Ordinance made by sections 22, 28, 29 and 31 of the
Marriage and Children (Miscellaneous Amendments)
Ordinance 1997 (69 of 1997) ("the amending Ordinance") do not apply in
relation to orders made before the commencement of the amending Ordinance, and
the provisions of this Ordinance in force immediately before the commencement
of the amending Ordinance continue to apply in relation to those orders as if
the amending Ordinance had not been enacted.

(2) The amendments to section 10 of this Ordinance made by section  26 of
the amending Ordinance-

   (a)  do not apply in relation to orders made before that commencement under
        section 5, 6(1)(a) or 8 of this Ordinance in favour of a child if the
        term of the order extends beyond the date when the child will attain
        the age of 21;

   (b)  except as provided in paragraph (a), apply in relation to orders made
        before that commencement, but where such an order provides for
        payments to be made or secured to or for the benefit of a child for a
        term extending beyond the date when the child will attain the age of
        18 but not beyond the date when the child will attain the age of 21,
        nothing in this subsection shall be construed as affecting the term of
