GUARDIANSHIP OF MINORS ORDINANCE - SECT 23
Procedure in District Court

Amendments retroactively made - see 25 of 1998 s. 2 Except as otherwise
expressly provided in this Ordinance, Part IV of the District Court Ordinance
( Cap 336) shall apply to every proceeding before, and every order by, the
District Court under this Ordinance, and- (Amended 69 of 1997 s. 7)
(a) the application may be heard and determined otherwise than in open
court;
(b) where the District Court considers that the matter is one which could
more conveniently be dealt with by the Court of First Instance, the
District Court may refuse to make an order and in that case, without
prejudice to the general right of appeal conferred by Part IV of the
District Court Ordinance ( Cap 336), no appeal shall lie from the
decision of the District Court; (Amended 25 of 1998 s. 2)
(c) an order for the payment of money shall be enforceable in like manner
as an order for the payment of a civil debt.
