INTERPRETATION AND GENERAL CLAUSES ORDINANCE - SECT 49

Power to appoint public officer to board, etc.

Where any Ordinance confers power upon any person to appoint any persons to be
members of any board, tribunal, commission, committee or similar body, the
person so empowered may appoint any public officer, by his official
designation, to be a member of such board, tribunal, commission, committee or
similar body, and, on such appointment and until such appointment shall be
revoked or otherwise determined, the person for the time being holding the
public office in question shall be a member of such board, tribunal,
commission, committee or similar body.
